Great News
The greatest thing about following the video games industry is that there is always something going on. There are always highly anticipated surefire blockbusters to keep tabs on for new screenshots, trailer and gameplay videos, hands-on impressions by magazines and web sites, etc. There is always the big announcement from a developer or publisher of a new sequel or a new game from a hot shit designer. Like most gamers, I tend to have my eye on a large number of upcoming games in various stages of development at any given time.
As I had mentioned in a previous post, the game I am most excited about is the single player RPG/MMO combo project from 38 Studios. The idea is that they will release a MMO, preceded by a single player multi-platform (Presumably Xbox 360, PS3, and PC) RPG whose story will set the table for the MMO, kinda sorta like the Warcraft 3 RTS storyline set the plot for the beginning of World of Warcraft, which in my opinion worked out very well. 38 Studios has what appears to me like an All Star cast of creative talent. RA Salvatore is creating a new story, Todd Macfarlane is creating the artwork, Ken Rolston who was the lead designer of the excellent Elder Scrolls 3 and 4 RPGs is the lead designer, and Curt Schilling is the front man.
I just found out that the RPG will be announced at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con on July 22.

Needless to say I am pretty excited!
I like your blog, but probably won’t read anymore with such a white background. It hurts my eyes.
I wouldn’t mind hearing about this Killing machine project and what you plan to do.
I’ll be an Imperial Agent most likely, I was going to be an Inquisitor but the sheer popularity of their forum made me realize they’re the Hunter of sw:tor so to speak.
Anyway, good luck on whatever you’re planning to do.

Ah, I didn’t read the ‘about’. (referring to my first comment)
I noticed you mentioned Morrowind.
I used to play Morrowind on my X box, having 2hour turns with my brothers. I remember making an Orc warrior as my first char’, and I remember getting into a fight with a Kwama Forager and a Mudcrab at once and died.
I remember good times making Big Brute Barry(pure man), who only used his fists. It was so hilarious getting hand-to-hand to 100 so fast, and how long it took to kill anything. We laughed so hard xD(“I’m BIG, I’m BRUTE, and I’M BARRY!!!!”)
I’m so used to everything in games now. I’m taking on Dragon Age: Origins first time in Nightmare mode on a Bloodmage, with my Alienware computer raping their video settings…

I remember the first time I tried Morrowind on Xbox. I was never really able to get much into it. I was playing EverQuest at the time, and I believe it was during one of my burnout periods.
A couple years later, I got Morrowind’s sequel Oblivion on Xbox 360 during my first World of Warcraft burnout sabbatical. The game was outstanding. Looking back now, the only negative was that I hadn’t yet purchased my first HDTV, so the onscreen typed captions were small and looked out of place. The game was great though.
Dragon Age: Origins was pretty good too. I played that on Xbox 360 also. I can’t remember the last non-MMO RPG I played on the PC.
Ken Rolston who was the lead designer for Morrowind and Oblivion is now designing the two games that comprise the 38 Studios Copernicus Project.
And of course Bioware, who brought us Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, Mass Effect 1 and 2, and Dragon Age Origins and Awakening is bringing us Star Wars: The Old Republic. Right now I am preparing myself to jump headfirst into SWTOR, but with an eye toward Copernicus. I hedge my bet with Final Fantasy 14. I am not playing any MMO right now for the first time since 2002, and I get itchy sometimes I must admit.

Yeah, I plan to get back onto the WoW train again soon.

The WoW train has come and gone for me and I have absolutely no interest in getting back on ever again.
My plan right now is to enjoy my free time and do some other things that do not involve MMOs. I am hoping I can get into any or all of the betas for SWTOR, FF14, and Fallout Online but otherwise no MMOs. I have no interest whatsoever in WoW 4.0 (Cataclysm). Otherwise, I plan on playing SWTOR next year with some WoW guildmates. I intend to take a week or two off for the SWTOR launch and put some serious time in learning the game and really getting my character set up.
I will play some console stuff when they come out through the rest of the year because there really are some good titles coming out.

I haven’t gotten into Fallout3, I guess I didn’t like the concept(that and I tried it on a high difficulty, I mean why do games like that even have a choice??). Same reason I don’t like army games(CoD for example), yet I loved Halo.
I’ve also never touched Final Fantasy and probably never will(but I have fond memories of playing Breath of Fire on the SNES).
Also, are you sure you won’t be touching Cataclysm? They will be changing a lot including low level quests apparently. Could be fun for a game you know so much about.
